NGC 346 is a young, bright star cluster embedded within the N66 nebula, located in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. Situated approximately 200,000 to 210,000 light-years away in the constellation Tucana, it is the brightest star-forming region in the SMC.
