M33 - Triangulum Galaxy
The Triangulum Galaxy (M33) is one of the most rewarding deep-sky targets for amateur astrophotographers. Sitting around 2.7 million light-years away, it is the third-largest member of our local galactic neighbourhood after Andromeda and the Milky Way, yet it often feels more elusive due to its low surface brightness. What it lacks in immediate visual punch, it more than makes up for in detail. Long exposures reveal sprawling, loosely wound spiral arms packed with glowing hydrogen regions, including the enormous NGC 604 star-forming complex, one of the largest known stellar nurseries in the Local Group.
